I suspect 2. Freleng and Stalling worked in Termite Terrace.
Is this the cartoon with Tweety and Sylvester being shipped in the baggage car?

1. Fritz Freeling. I beleive he was the producer and this was an inside joke by the cartoonist. Is cartoonist a word??? [?]

Tough question! Really love Warner Bros. animation of the period - Witty, funny & always a treat (they never seem to get old). Too bad that they don't make animation like this anymore. [:(]

I gotta go with rrandb and put my vote down for #1 (Fritz Freleng). This sounds like an insider's joke among the cartoonists of the time. And yes, Cartoonist is a word! [;)]

Friz Freleng. The names of those who worked on the cartoon appeared quite often in the cartoons. Another tweety cartoon had a Drink Friz poster on the side of a building.

Freleng's real name was Isadore Freleng. He worked for Disney for some time before starting out in an attempt to establish his own animation studio with Harmann and Ising. He was the Director, not Producer, of the Looney Tunes cartoons.
