i know some of the story of reading 2101 being damaged in the fire in 79. dose any body know is there a possibility of restoring the t-1 back to operational?

You can check with the B&O RR Museum to see for sure, but from what I have been told, NO. The heat from the fire weakened the metal and it won't pass any test.
