I am trying to find out which train lines ran through Hartford, just outside of Sioux Falls, SD in the 1860's. And which Locomotives were used.

In 1949 the only railroad serving Hartford, S.D., was the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha (part of the Chicago & North Western system). An expert on the history of those lines might be a good source of information about the predecessor that went through Hartford and was absorbed into the system.

Hi.I have a reprint of a 1869 Official Railway Guide. It doesn't list any railroads in South Dakota in 1869.Perhaps the line wasn't built until later?
