Railfanning Post 9-11

All I have to say is what looks more suspicous: A father and son with a camera around their necks with a huge grin on their face talking about the distinction of a AC-4000 from a C-44-9w or a guy with a huge telephoto lens taking pictures from a car and then driving away fast? My tought is leave us alone and we police our selves. I have many a time called the railorad police on "weirdos" hanging around the track s doing things that are not safe or legal. As a former railorad employee I felt more comfortable having people interested in my job then having the RR Police drive them away. Railfans have been known to report defects on trains that could cause a major emergency. People who are fans should not be treated like criminals. Shouldn't we be looking for people that fit the profile of terroists? And don't give me "You can't profile" because they are profiling railfans as criminals bent on hurting the things they love.
