Ex Reading 2100

It was lifted from the rails back onto 2 QTTX flat cars. A few more things will be going with the unit before it departs, with the Spare Tender and the 2 QTTX cars with the Tender and 2100 on them.

I had forgotten what good looking loco's the T1's are. So where is this one headed, and will she run again?

Re: 2100..I thought that some time ago I had read that the 2100 was destroyed in a roundhouse fire at some locatioon in the northeast. Admittedly, the details were pretty foggy. The 2100 earned a lot of respect as the engine used on the Iron Horse Rambles in the 1960's. MOre details on this loco would be very interesting. Especially where they are removing it to and what are the plans for it?

If I'm not mistaken,it was the 2101 that was damaged in the roundhouse
fire. I can't remember the year,but it happened at C & O's Stevens Yard (Silver
Grove,Ky.)

Close but no.It was the 2101.

The 2100 is headed to WA.
Yes it is fully operational.Once it arrives in WA it will be put back in service.
The red you see is a large reflective decal we had made up so the engine would be noticed on the crossings.Also I see on other forums they say we had problems
steaming this locomotive since it was changed over to oil NOT TRUE.There was only
3 of us up in the cab on the test run after the conversion and it ran very well.
Also we do not use bunker C oil ,only # 1 heating oil is used.Just to bring this Locomotive up to steam costs about $ 7,000 ( labour and material )
I have worked on many steam locomotives but this one I enjoyed working on the
most, put alot of time on this one.

Thanks for the help..2101 was the fire damaged engine...What are the plans for the 2100 on arrival in Washington?? These T1 class engines were real speedsters and could get over the road in fine style. Is this 2101 the one that the short line Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania ran for a while?
