The Contemporary Diesel Spotter's Guide, second edition, page 30, tells all about these three locomotives.

They were 2000-horsepower rebuilds of early Geeps, produced at a time when a lot of Geeps were being rebuilt (EMD wanted to get into this business, as it wasn't producing many new locomotives at the time). They produced three of them, and couldn't sell 'em.

The Field Guide to Modern Diesel Locomotives has a small blurb about them as well.

LLPX is leasing all 3 of them to Railamerica's MacKenzie Northern, which operates in Alberta. They were made out of BN GP9s, 1 SP&S, 1 NP and 1 CB&Q.
