Welcome ModocStudent... I graduated from there conductor class in April 2005 and now work on with a shortline railroad company in North Carolina. As far as railroad training goes, while Modoc can't possibly cover everything one needs to know for a railroad job, it does do one heck of a good job in the short time they have to get students trained. hi drfizzix,
I thought you went to the LA area. What happened? Did you get a better offer or what?
Or is my memory getting that bad? [8D]

Hey Chad [:D].... well, it's not your memory that's getting bad.... I had a conditional job offer from BNSF for a conductor's job at the yard in downtown LA (which although I love the BNSF, I was not real thrilled with the prospect of working in downtown LA). Unfortunately there was a paperwork error on BNSF's part (nothing to do with Modoc) and the job offer fell through because there was not enough time to fix the paperwork before I missed the scheduled training class [:(].

So for the time being, I work as a conductor for the Aberdeen, Carolina & Western Railway Company (http://www.ACWR.com/) in central North Carolina. Although my current employer is pretty good, hopefully I'll have another shot with BNSF down the road.

Hi Scott

At least you got a rr job in the meantime. I'm glad the Modoc program worked out for you. You know what my opinion of there operation was. They must have it together now though. Anyway keep us posted on how things go with your current job.
