I betcha it's the approach to the Ohio River Bridge near Evansville, IN. The Q645 runs from Chicago south to Nashville every day, and the only body of water I can think of that has a flood plain that large on that route is the Ohio River.

CSXT is in a fog right now and has no idea what they are doing or where they are going. If they wanted to be a good railroad they would not have had any part of CONRAIL because they could not handle they aftermath.

If you look the 3rd engine is a mp15 talk about running anything to get the tonnage moving.

I highly doubt that unit is running. More than likely some yards' switch engine going to get a regular inspection.

The mp15 is capable of track speed running. It was designed as a dual purpose locomotive. It has blomberg style trucks and is normally geared for track speeds. UP still has a bunch in service and the Rock Island's were geared for 74 mph and in fact at the last timetable still allowed 65 mph.

CSX is no more or more less special than any other railroad, unless you are a CSX fan. I think the purpose of the thread is the bridge and the unusual angle of the photograph. Although I am an SP fan, I do like CSXT's yellow, blue, and gray paint scheme, not the latest on though.

eletroc-ortcele - Every railroad is special to its fans. In the case of CSX that might be a lot of what it has going for it. It sure hasn't been profits.

Yes, CSX was put back by gulping up half of Conrail, but things are improving. Right now we are in a major power crunch so trains have anything with an engine and wheels pulling them around. But, CSX is making money now and if you haven't noticed the company is putting money back into itself by investing into its physical plant by improving specific rail corridors such as the I-95 corridor route that runs along the East coast. Don't count CSX out yet, the company is still licking its wounds, but I see major improvement ahead.
