The movement you see is a grade crossing over the UP. It is just a city street.

As I look at the Rochelle webcam, I'm looking directly at the big brick structure just beyond the diamond.  It looks to me like they're tearing down part of that building right where that city street crossed the UP.  Got any idea about that?

Go to this thread to read the last couple of pages to catch up with a lot of the goings-on in Rochelle in regard to the diamonds and the building being torn down.

http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/111/t/231186.aspx?page=42

I don't recommend reading all 44 pages as the earlier stuff is now pretty much obsolete.

Also, use Google-Earth to view the area from the satelite photos.  The camera is the white rectangle at the gable peak of the roof to the east of the diamonds.

You can see what the building (that is being torn down now) looked like a year or so ago, (not the present state).  Follow the UP tracks west and you can see the street you are asking about.

If you need help setting up or using Google-Earth, go ahead and ask here.

Gee, all I was curious about was what the building being torn down was, as I could see activity there while looking at the webcam.
