Well,...............Realy the C&NW & Soo Line of yesteryear were my all time favorites!

I realy have taken a liking to the WSOR (Wisconsin & Southern) here in Wisconsin! Their Waukesha Sub. trackage rolls by our property out back. The crews put on a good show with their consist rolling on by here. They sure have come a long ways since their start up. Trackage & Locomotives have seen the the biggest improvements on the line. The motive power is usually kept clean & well maintained.
Lately I've been getting to know some of the past & present crew members as well as getting to know some of the roads railfans. They all make our/my hobby alot of fun!

Also, Everyday is almost like Christmas with the WSOR's trains rolling through here. Some days I'll get to see live steam in action, Or even their passenger equipment (E9's & cars), As well as their Awesome consists with alot of power taking care of their daily business!

From time to time we're even treated with variouse units passing through from other foreign roads destined for the WSOR paint shops in Horicon Wi. We also get to see some of their finished products that came fresh from the shops rolling by here heading towards their interchange points.
They sure do a good job with their "DuPonte Makeovers" up yonder.

Also the Comander in chief Mr. Bill Gardner seems to have the right approach with handling things. Hosting events such as their 25th Ann. / Roundhouse Ann. & in years gone by with passenger excursions, Circus Trains, etc.
He had the right aproach with refurbishing several Bi-level cars for the 25thy Ann. celebration in Madison Wi. The rides were free of charge & It gave thousands of people a good idea of what a rail passenger service would be like if they were to follow with this idea for their area.

What can we expect in the future from Mr. Gardner & his road?,........We'll just have to wait & see!

Like I always say, "It's not the destination,.............It's the journey!"

"Happy rails"

Ken

Cast my vote for the Kankakee, Beaverville & Southern Railroad. [:D]
The KB&S was one of the last places where you could find 4-axle Alco diesels and old EMD Geep power. They have recently "modernized" their motive fleet with the purchase of six GP-40s [looking sharp in their blue/yellow livery and new logo]. [^]
