Incidents Outside of the Work Area

It's hard to believe that railroaders work in an environment that subjects them to hazards to their life and limbs everyday. Yet, there are two of my coworkers that in recent weeks, have gotten severely injured off the job while doing recreational activities. I told you all about one some weeks ago that gotten spinal injuries while diving into a swimming pool. One of the foremen whose been keeping in touch with his family says, he's out of danger for the time being and has regained some feeling in the lower parts of his body. So, keep the prayers coming people. Now, another coworker was in a motorcycle accident and is serious condition. He is right at this moment, still in a coma and it was reported his heart had stopped twice when he was on the operating table. Now, he has blood clots in his lungs. Apperently they had traveled from where his knee was injured through his heart into his lungs. The doctors don't know if they can work on him until he is more stablized and out of a coma. It just make much sense to me, but I guess that's for the Supreme Being to answer. How is it that we can go through our workday, dodging injury and death, and yet still have something screwy happen to us while we are trying to enjoy ourselves outside of work. It just doesn't seem fair...none of it. Let's say a prayer for those that must carry out their duties in adverse conditions of this, the railroad industry, and that we all can enjoy our lives in happiness and peace.
