Scrap value of Lamolle Valley Railroad in VT

Raymond,
I spoke with our Executive Director, Bryant Watson, who has been in
attendance at all of the Lamoille Valley Railroad planning meetings. He
gave me the information in the first paragraph of the e-mail I sent to
you yesterday.
As for the scrap value of the rails, here is the breakdown that we
have according to the bid documents from AOT, which were provided to me
again by the Executive Director.
There is an estimated 400,000 lineal feet of rail on the Lamoille
Valley Railroad estimated at $2,344,000.00 scrap value. $1,524,000.00 of
this money is going back to the State of Vermont. The other $820,000.00
is going to the contractor for costs involved in removing all of the
rails and ties, trucking etc. Of the $1,524,000 going to the State of
Vermont $789,000.00 of it is being spent on repairing all the highway
crossings, and $75,000.00 has been allocated for use in repair of the rail
bed after the rails and ties are removed as I mentioned in my e-mail to
you yesterday. So the net amount of money that is going to the State
of Vermont when all is said and done is approximately $660,000.00. This
again is according to the bid documents that we have.
I hope this information helps you out and answers your questions.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Have a good day.
