Why They should promote Operation Life Saver
Posted by railfan619 on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 9:10 PM
I just recently heard that a 10 yr old girl in colorado got killed by trying to beat a train to. The crossing and someone had said they should promote Operation Life Saver and I think it is a great. Idea to do that make it a regurlar thing. Like drunk driving notices espicaly at bar closing time. Because that's really a dangerous time and thats when a lot of railroads do there switching of cars. In fact a couple months back the Milw journal sental did a story of dangerous railroad crossings in wisconsin. And one of them was the one on 22nd and Morgan where 5 people in the past 4 years have been killed by a train. Oh wait now Iam [#offtopic] but anyway now the state of wisconsin is making The Up put gates and lights up at that crossing even though it only sees a train 2 every month when they got to move cars from the recylcing plant.
But back to the oringal topic. The railroads should Run ad's on the radio and on tv about. Crossing train tracks safely. Also they should get into the schools across the country to promote Rail safety. But anywho I think that should just about sum everything up for now if I think of anymore I'll write back...........[^][4:-)]
