Train wreck 22 June 1948 Pleasant Gap, PA
I'm doing research on a Penna. Rail Road accident that a 3rd cousin twice removed was killed in.
He was a conductor of a shifter that was hauling quarry material from Whiterock Quarry (still operation today under a different name) in Pleasant Gap, Centre Co., PA to Bellefonte, Cenmtre Co., PA, When it was hit. I'm trying to identify the type of cars that carried the quarry material. Can you help? Are the cars aggregate, hopper or a special hopper car?
I would include a scanned photo of the accident from the local newspaper but I'm unable. E-mail me and I will send you the photo.

Hello bathhurst,
Please e-mail your photo to modeltrains@trains.com. Perhaps I can help.
