Brand new! THREE NEW LOGOED BNSF ES44DC's on Z-CHCPTL! 7774, 7773, and 7775.

Hi everyone. I was out railfanning earlier today. I saw the light of a westbound freight. It looked BNSFish. Then a Metra came eastbound. It was going so sit right in front of me and block my photo. I looked closer at the BNSF light. I saw black lettering on the front and it was underlined! I thought to myself "OH NO!" I started to run as fast as I could to get in front of the Metra. I barely made it. If I had gotten there a second later, I would have missed it. Z-CHCPTL highballed past the Metra with three Brand new sparkling BNSF NEW LOGO ES44DC's. He honked to us too. [:)] Here is my picture of the three NEW LOGOS passing the Metra: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=111032

Thanks for looking, and HAPPY RAILFANNING! [:)] Nick

That is a great shot of the train. I like how close up a lot of your shots of trains are.

Nice photo - nice to get new power "right out of the box."

..... but I have a question.. look closely at the right hand side of the photo. Notice the young girl standing there. IT LOOKS LIKE SHE'S TAKING A PICTURE OF THE METRA TRAIN. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! What is this girl up to? Is she some sort of terrorist? Is she planning to commit some sort of dastardly dead upon the Metra train? Clearly you should have reported her and anyone else seen photographing trains, for they can only be up to no good!!!! [swg][;)]

Doesn't get much newer then that... But when did taking pictures of trains become so popular? They say the hobby has declined, but it doesn't seem like it. I use to sit at Naperville when I was a kid, and we never saw a single other person who cared about trains.

VERRRRRRRY far right. She could have been shooting the Toasters and not the cattle train -- excuse me, the commuter train.

Hehe. Everywhere I go now, cops see me photographing, and they ask "What are you guys doing?" Then I tell him the truth, I'm here photographing trains. One cop said "Well you guys don't look like terrorists." Thanks for your kind words, dblstack. [:)]

eolafan, I hear they are running a lot of the Race Track now. The two times I saw them, they were on Z-CHCPTL. Both of them were westbound. Hope you see one soon. Take care. [:)] Nick

Yep. Definately worth it. I had to leave to go home, and I asked if I could stay to see the train that had the High Green on Track 2. About 20 minutes later, Three Brand New NEW LOGOS came through. Take care. [:)] Nick

Yes on the Ft. Madison yesterday a EB BNSF train was waiting for the bridge to close & the last 2 of a 3 set loco consist wore the new logo. Since the train was stopped they were posing for about 10 minutes or so before the bridge closed & the train continued its march eastward. [:o)][:D][:p]
