This question keeps comming up and most of the answers are the same. but it can not be answered or should be attempted to be answered by anyone who has not run these engines. yes it is fun ( some what ) to see what people think but would you vote mack trucks over a kenworth if you never drove them and understood what each is capable of doing?

with that said the best engines made was emd sd -60 and 70 series
best company they are all the same. it is what color you want this week

SD40-2 because it keeps going and going and going (although I prefer riding in an American cab)

Your answer is true but people may just prefer the look or what they grew up with like trucks between Ford, Dodge,etc... it can also be the reliablity that they have heard about it or the only one they know anything about[bow][swg][sigh]
