Other Truelook Webcam locations - San Diego Yards
Posted by daniel3197 on Saturday, May 28, 2005 12:46 AM
I am glad you finally found this cool webcam,
I have known about it for about 2 years or so.
By the way there are other similar Truelook webcams with good views of railroads
in:
San Diego CA above the Santa Fe - Amtrak depot platform.
You need to select "San Diego Intl Airport on the pull-down menu.
Using the "North Webcam" patiently pan south
to the west side of downtown to see the north half
of the now Amtrak Platform.

Now continuing my Truelook webcam list here:
Chicago IL (Orloff Volvo cam -shows Metra Clyborn stop),
and Ventura CA (Inside Ventura cam shows former SP Coast Line and Ventura Amtrak platform).
I think the Empire State Building (Truelook cam) in New York City may show some railroads.
I am not familiar with any of the east coast so I do NOT know where to look on that one.

On the Chicago Truelook Orloff Volvo Imports webcam you need to look
across the freeway on the far side to see the railroad.
You will see it near the large freeway exit sign that is located on the same side as the webcam.
If this Chicago cam is Busy-Unavailable just be patient and hit reload.
The image should soon appear.
I found these cams by browsing the Truelook Webcam Portal website.
I hope all of this helps!

Railcams - My little Truelook Webcam List
Posted by daniel3197 on Saturday, May 28, 2005 2:09 PM
Well here it is.
By the way if you loose this list you can key
each of these names into the Google search engine and find the webcams.
It looks like the Port of Oakland recently pulled the plug on their Truelook cam.
That was a very nice one for me because I also live in the San Francisco Bay Area and
found that cam to be very useful. That is why I deleted that cam off my list last night.
Now onto the links using the "TinyURL" redirection service to shorten each link:

Does anyone know if any railroad lines are visible in these 2 cameras
in New York and Las Vegas?? :

OK Just now found the UP - LASL main tracks going under this overpass:

A really GREAT website listing other webcams showing railroad lines
is located here:

I hope you all have enjoyed this little excursion
into the world of webcams!
