Nice picture Jimitrain. The depth of field was pretty extraordinary for such a telephoto picture. You must've been stopped down pretty well?

Thanks, Chris! The sun was getting low, the lighting was perfect, and here came an MP36! [:)]

Nick, what f-stop were you shooting? I'm still amazes at the depth of field in both shots. You must've been closed down to around f11 or better?

Those really are nice shots, Nick. Ain't it great when the light works out like that? Based on the date, I'm guessing you're shooting digital? What sort of equipment do you use?

Nick,

Did you by chance have a westbound freight go by you shortly after taking these pictures. (BNSF main). I went thru late afternoon during rush hour on the mihbgal and saw someone franticly( I think it was you) running back and forth with the tri-pod taking all of the pictures he could. We had the BNSF 7868 followed by the BNSF 4646. Just curious if that was you I saw. Plus if it was I know you snapped a couple of us, even though we looked pretty ugly compared to the rest.

Let me know,

Thanks Chris, Not real sure about the F-Stop, but I was shooting at an aperture speed of F5.00 and a shutter speed of 1/500 sec. [:)]

Hi Shrek, I did have a westbound freight go through shortly after. That's awesome how you were the conductor! That was me going crazy back and forth taking pictures. I was hoping they would hold the Metra's and let you through first, but we all know that will never happen, since Metra has the right of way.[:(] That BN SD40-2 7868 was the best train that I saw all day. About an hour after you guys went through, another BN SD40-2 went East through Joliet Station. I'm there a lot, usually about two or three times a week, especially on Saturday's and Sunday's. I live about 15 minutes from the station. I listen to the scanner all night hearing trains on the BNSF Line. Take care. Hope to see you again soon! [:)]
P.S. How rediculous did I look running with my tri-pod?
