Anybody who has been their know if they have a viewing platform or a bridge over the tracks so you can film the action from above? [:o)][8D]

Yes! The Union Pacific provides FREE helicopter rides 100 feet above the action. It is fantastic!

Seriously, though, there is nothing there. (At least from a personal visit there a few years ago.)

No platform or bridge, but if you take the road south of US 30 , it takes you right between the main to Chicago and the tracks south to Kansas City. Don't know whether UP is particular about parking there now or not. Used to be, they didn't mind. This is a different day though! Have fun, but be careful! Paul

Thats a pretty good idea. I have to see if one is available in Omaha & the cost. The reason I asked is I bought a tape from Pentex about Gibbon & they mentioned in the tape that they were building a overpass over the tracks. Guess it did not happen. [:o)][:p][:)]

Just a word of thought. Stay off and away (far away) from the tracks when you are Railfanning. Have lot's of fun.

I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

There is a bridge just west of the junction. Sidewalk is on the west side of the bridge.

Yes that would be nice but I wonder how the UPRR shareholders whould take to free helicopter rides. Somebody else has reported that they have built a bridge I guess since you have been their. [:o)][:D][:p]

For sure safety is always #1. Thanks for your reply & I saw the spot you mentioned on the tape I have about Gibbon. FYI somebody else has reported that a bridge now exists @ Gibbon. [:o)][:D][:p]
