Tough choice. My least favorite is easier . The BNSF logo looks like an aspirin trademark. I have a split decision between the RIO Grande and the orginal Santa Fe logos.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

Far and away (in my book) would be the Milwaukee Road's emblem. The early days, with the many variations of RR Name inside the white and red, then to THE MILWAUKEE ROAD we came to know so well- until 1985.

I'm surprised. No one has picked CSX. That C...it's so round. And that S is sooo curvey. And the X really marks the spot.

And how about the Conrail logo before the can opener emblem. It doesn't get much better than CR over top a CNJ Statue of Liberty.

And my all time favorite are the Norfolk Southern engines in gray or beige primer. Nothing gets me more excited than seeing that NS stenciled on the side of the cab like a packing crate.

Mopac. Both the buzzsaw and screaming eagle. The Rock Island cat wiskers is a close second.

What's your favorite railroad emblem ?...
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 27, 2005 7:39 PM
Though I own items of Union Pacific, BNSF, Southern Pacific, etc. I'd have to say that my favorite RR emblem is that of the Western Pacific...
I like their colors and their history, and wi***hey were still around. It's gotten to be a thing with me to buy WP coffee cups, tin signs or anything else with it's emblem on it that strikes my fancy.
