i should have been able to see one... the other day i was up by dekalb, IL and saw 3 eastbounds and 4 westbounds all stopped between dekalb and maple park...a distance of about 5 miles. overland parking route is more like it

Well, its pretty obvious they are not built for looks, but rather for work. They look rather brutish and utilitarian.

The SD70ACe looks really different in UP flag unit paint. I think the flag unit paint looked better on the SD70MAC or the SD90MAC. Well, I guess I have to get used to it huh?/ I haven't seen any UP SD70ACe's in person but I have seen a CSX in dark future paint, it looks pretty good to me in that scheme.

The referenced photograph shows some of last year's SD70ACEs. Are this year's going to be any different?

Saw a 2006-built UP GEVO today; slightly different placement of logo from last year.

No, Grasshopper, these are not hybrids.

I actually think they look very sharp, its a good change from the normal nosed locomotive that you see.

Some have made it East onto NS...I caught 2 UPSD70ACe's so far on the NS Mainline near Johnstown, Pa.

They aren't common leading in the Chicago area because of Cab Signaling issues. Or did they fix them yet?
