Wow if a judge & a deputy can not be protected then we are in bad way. The TV is saying the gun was taken from a female deputy. They still have not nabbed him either. [:(]

Maybe we should have a thread about unrailroad relevant news that people might not hear on thier local news.

Here is some news for Counrty music fans that might not have heard it yet.

Chris LeDoux died wednesday morning after losing his battle with cancer. He was 56.

Well if everyone posted their own non-railroad items of interest, the forum would quickly be filled up with personal "campaigns to inform". As miniwyo said, maybe there could be an ongoing thread about unrelated news; maybe one similar to the "Would you believe...a little humor", and the "Depot diner & coffee shop" threads.

You know that we have a diner for just this type of information. Anything goes there, within reason and in good taste - of course! You can sit there all day and drink coffee and talk about what you want.

You've got that right, Mookie. The Depot Diner & Coffee Shop is JUST
the place for this kind of topic.

I don't mind off-topic conversations. I am free not to respond to them; besides, I like to know more about the people I am chatting with.

Thanks I really do not understand the several objections to this post in other then the coffee shop. Because a judge & a deputy were involved I thought it was important to all who were logged on to the forum at the time I posted it. [:D]

Maybe this thread could continue, as a place to put non-railroad related items of interest. The Depot Diner seems more concerned about 'imaginary' foods, where this thread could be for more "serious" topics.

BTW, My apologies for my earlier comments.

The diner is about food because no one wants to post non-food items on it. If you read the diners on other forums, they go off on all different topics. That's what you do in a diner - talk about general news topics.

You want to talk on current events or other topics not of a train interest, I am sure someone will listen to you and visit with you. But you can't sit out here and throw rocks when you have never even been inside.

Impress us with your knowledge on things unrelated to trains.

Try it...you might like it!

Thanks I do post the weather in my area of the country every day in diner thread . If you like I will be more then happy to give you my Email address & if you like you pick the subjects for discussion. I found thru other forums that discussing things on a forum usually lead going no where & for sure whatever we feel or say will not be adopted by the powers to be. Right? May I humbly ask what is bothering you so greatly that I started a seperate thread instead oof using the diner that yo are making such a issue about it?

If you would reply to my question why you made my thread such a big deal? If you reply then maybe I would understand better what you were trying to get across. [?]

I am going to reply - so watch my lips - very closely....

Out of all the posts on this thread - I only posted that we can do more in the diner than just eat. If someone wants to come in there and rant and rave or talk about anything other than trains, we are more than willing to accomodate them.

I directed nothing at you - so quit trying to make this into a personal vendetta. I don't care if you post 100 posts on anything you want. No skin off my very cute nose!

Take a deep breath and chill - you'll live lots longer!

We now return you to our regularly scheduled forum.

Thanks for the clarification even though I did not think yours or Cwoman posts were necessary. [8D]

What I felt was offensive is you came across as Sgt Slaughter of the forum. Then Cwoman chimed in to back you up. Then you suggested that I move over into the diner thread so you can see what else do I know other then trains (your words). Why would you want to see what I know other then trains which is my hobby? Why would you want to know what I know other then trains when this is a forum for trains? So on one hand you complained that I started thread incorrectly backed up by Cwoman then I other you ask me to find out what I may know about subjects not train related which sonds to me as sought of a double standard. If we can talk my wife into a trip to Omaha to go to Gibbon Jct you can be assure I will alert you accodlingly. My Email address is spbed@yahoo.com so feel free to use it whenever you desire[:D]
