Tehachapi Loop Paved Road Warning!
Posted by K. P. Harrier on Sunday, March 6, 2005 12:16 PM
When visiting Tehachapi Pass, do be careful driving to the loop. A few years ago, midway between the freeway and the Loop itself, on the south side of the NARROW road, is a large boulder-like rock with many gashes on it. I sideswiped it once several years ago, and my car has never steered correctly since, even after wheel alignments. So watch the road (not the trains), and drive safely.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- K.P.’s absolute “theorem” from early, early childhood that he has seen over and over and over again: Those that CAUSE a problem in the first place will act the most violently if questioned or exposed.

Better to come in from Tehachapi on that road and then on to Keene or back into town. It's better from that direction, although still winding but not so narrow. And going towards Keene, you are at least on the side of the road away from the boulders. Just take it slow and you shouldn't need Bondo for a while.

Hhehehee, I remember the Rock from way back, that road is alot of fun in a zippy little car like I had back then on my last trip up there, been a few years since. I would have to laugh watching someone trying to manuvoer a large SUV down that road. Enjoy the windmills.
