We are catching the Crescent tonight around 9:00 in Charlottesville VA. I assume the power is electric NYC to WASH. I'm wondering if our train is going to be affected by damage to the catenary from these winds.
Still in training.

Can't speak to what the NEC is experiencing, however, a tall pine tree in my side yard had a large branch break off in the winds and plant itself in the yard. Luckily it missed my heat pump/air conditioner. Winds at the house are measuring 25 MPH and the wind gauge is in a semi-protected area. The sounds of the wind whistling through the trees tells me that the winds at their levels are much higher.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
40 mph gusts here in Charlotte
So far, seems to be running on the advertised.
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.

Lots of wind and snow here, with the wind pushing the snow. Just got back from a tree/wires down call and had to carefully pick my way back. Used the shoulders of the road more than anything else to ensure I was still in the road.
Current biggest gust here is 32 MPH, and I'm somewhat protected. Wind chill, though, is +6F...
Even the W place closed, right through until Monday - it's that bad.
