Backshop

1.Armco is now called AK Steel.

2. I believe you mean North Bessemer, not Braddock.

Yeah, North Bessemer.

AK Steel was sold to Cleveland Cliffs a while back. I was unsure if AK had changed the name, which it turns out is a yes.

I just read that more recently, they've also acquired the North American operations of Arcelor-Mittal, whose main works is the old Inland Steel plant in Indiana Harbor.  They also own the ex Bethlehem Burns Harbor mill, along with several smaller ones.  They've turned into a powerhouse.

The last trucking company I worked did business with CN Worldwide.  CN would unload boxcars of paper (rolls) at their warehouse in Memphis.  Our trucking company would haul truckloads to customers in Dallas/Ft. Worth, usually around a load every week or so.  Reasonable pricing for the time as well, although from what I'm seeing now as far as T/L pricing CN would have had to price it much higher to get trucks in this day and time.  A spinoff of this part of CN could make a go of it IMO, provided they can get shippers to pay for the increase in truckload pricing.
