.....Jen, I'l give you a bit of help here...You were wondering if the GE was a good product....We have a "Spacesaver" GE above stove microwafe that is now 24 years old and still running. We recently tried to find a replacement for it but sizes have changed since then so still wondering which way to go. New models make it too low to the stove. Maybe we'll have to reinstall a range hood and purchase new microwave to just set on counter when we do replacement. Believe we've had 2 service calls for the GE in that amount of time.

And light bulbs!
Mookie, you said it was pretty quiet, are you sure it's a GE? That sounds more like an EMD.Or a GE that isn't running[:(].

There aren't too many companies out there anymore that make everything from Microwaves to Locomotives.

It hasn't done the familiar "whoop" yet. It does have a bell and it is pretty quiet. But insistent! It does warn that it will burn food if you don't do it right....guess that is a GE!

The instructions are as complicated as running any locomotive, but it is almost as quiet as an SD70 - wonder if they collaborated on this?

When you attempt to heat things up too fast, does it shoot out flames? Hope not!

If it's any thing like a dash 9 it will handily double as a vibrator... for sore backs and stuff.

Have no questions - been too cold and too much snow to go watch trains this past weekend. But it is nice to hear train whistles instead of snow blowers at night.

But a riddle for you: Which spouse said it? We lost our 17 year old - microwave, so went to get a replacement. Of course, the one we wanted wasn't in stock. So while looking at the rest, we spotted a GE that seemed to have what we wanted in a microwave. One spouse said " I don't know much about GE, so don't know if they are any good at all". The other spouse replied, "well, they made the Dash 9!".

I will leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions as to who said it and what she was inferring...........[}:)] [:D]

And yes, we bought the GE......
