Sunday seemed a little lighter. Of course, Saturday is when all the "serious" modellers and fans are there to make sure they get what they're looking for. Sunday tends to lean more toward families.
We stayed fairly busy both days.

I don't recall her having an umbrella, maybe she got one when it started to rain later, but I saw her twice in the Young building, which makes sense since that's where Deluxe Materials was. She wore what was likely form fitting spandex, Blue & Red/Silver (the colors of Deluxe), and looked straight out of a 1990s Eastern European dating site, tall with very blonde hair.Actually I thought the most attractive woman at the expo was the one with short dark hair and glasses at the B.E.S.T. booth area, wore a red blazer & black skirt on Saturday. Didn't talk with her, as I got intercepted by one of the very young (high school?) girls when I was looking for building details. Not sure if the dark haired woman was part owner of BEST or not, but she looked like a few of my former girlfriends (yes, I know she was not, but she did look like two of them). Saturday's ticketed attendance was 11,887. Not an all time attendance record but a very busy day.
I was there yesterday, and it certainly wasn't crush capacity (except for a few localized areas, like the Rapido booth). It was raining on and off in the afternoon, not sure if that made a difference. I left around 4:00PM, having made the rounds and finding pretty much everything I was looking for, and getting out of the parking lot was actually fairly quick compared to the last 3 times I attended. To keep boredom in this thread down I will NOT go into depth reviews like I have in the past, except to say there was a booth babe this time, at Deluxe Materials.

It certainly looked it. The were coming in hot and heavy all morning.
Got a chance to do some shopping as we had plenty of folks for the booth. There's still a few things I want to check out on Sunday.

Tables are set up. Layouts are being assembled and tested. Friday will see the dealers arrive as well as Monson #3. #3's whistle will sound to open the show on Saturday.

New England Free-Mo will be in section 145 of the Mallary Building.

The rest is regional tourist lines and railroadiana (images, collectables, etc). Odds are if you're looking for something railroad related, you can find it. All scales are represented. That said - there are some very impressive layouts there, too, with the host organization taking the cake in that category. Another layout annually runs a huge train that very nearly has the lead loco coupled to the trailing caboose. There are also railroad specific historical societies, travel agencies, and publishers (including Kalmbach.) The Amherst Belt Lines layout in the Better Living Center covers several scale miles. The Dry Hill Model Railroad Club, located in the Mallary Complex, runs some LONG trains. Don't forget there is a 1/1 scale steam locomotive running outside the Better Living Center.
One week to go. The larger layouts will begin setting up on Thursday. Vendor tables will be put in place and most dealers will arrive on Friday Monson #3 should arrive late Friday afternoon. The track will be put in place and she'll be under steam Saturday morning to sound the opening whistle at 9:00AM. Check the show web site for the vendor list and the floor plan so you can get the maximum benefit from your visit.

We're now down to serious countdown time, two weeks until showtime. If you check the show website you can find the list of vendors as well as the floor plan for all 4 buildings. You shouldn't have any problem locating Monson #3 operating outside the Better Living Center.

What you can do is check for any train club sponsored shows in your area, or close to it.
The club I belong to, the Virginia Train Collectors, sponsors four train meets a year at various locations. Tables rent for $25 each and there's usually no problem getting one if one reserves early enough.
I'd imagine most other train clubs are similar.
Can't answer that - you'll have to contact the club. They're full for this year.
