There's a 1947 version of "This is my Railroad" that's a bit longer and has more steam. Searching for it on line I've only found links to the later version, even if it's labeled 1947.

The years I lived right in Milford, MI, I was aware of the auto parts trains - I never knew that some portion of the traffic going by was boat traffic...

Bigger question - how much of the train made it over the kink - successfully?

I notice PRR stainless steel passenger cars. Were those only used on the east coast? Never saw any on the St. Louis trains.

To my limited knowledge, the only PRR cars that were operated in unpainted stainless were those that operated on The Congressional that went into service in the early 50's between New York and Washington. PRR had numerous other Budd built stainless cars that were used throughout their fleet of trains but they were all painted in the PRR Tuscan Red livery.

Perhaps stainless steel is the wrong terminology. I've always referred to silver unpainted passenger cars that way. In aviation it's called bare metal.

Hello, Just joined and this is my first post/reply. I was watching rail cams and searching the web when I found this thread. One of my favorite places to go for any video, printed material etc. The link if it works right should go to the Internet Archive. Do a search on any subject and see what all it comes up with. It's all public domain and can be downloaded. On the left pane is a ton of filters you can apply. Have fun! Internet Archive
Track Safety Training 1996 "Description: LACMTA produced training video on track safety for train operators and other employees. Includes many shots of underground rail tunnels, and a selection of hand/light signals to communicate with train operators."
Video link to Internet Archive. The video is copyrighted but can be watched online.
Enjoy!
