Along with the ticket add some "shock value": photos of those in similar situations who didn't make it.

One thing to drive around the gates, it's another to drive around the gates with kids in the car. [V]

and im betting the car was a BMW or a Lexus.... the YUPs of today have no clue other then if its in my way... it shouldnt be thier in the first place...so move it or ill have my lawer move it for you.... as far as no clue...that is true..and they never will have one... what is needed is a fine and a driver re-education class regarding crossing safty..... and a history class showing that the railroad was here befor the invention of the car.....

Something that was related to me by my father, who is a police officer, something he witnessed while on duty...

a train was doing some switching, and the crew had stopped traffic at a crossing and done everything required of them, and as they proceeded through the crossing, someone decided to go around, in front of the train, being missed by only a few inches. So my father pulls the person over for it, finding that this person had three kids in the car with him... the driver of the car had the guts to actually try too blame the railroad for having the crossing there.
