Happy Birthday, Dave !
P.S. Thank You for the links you shared with me. The Daniel Pipes Blog is one I have taken to following recently. The 'Pro Audio' entry was in an area I had not previously considered. Thanks, and many happy returns.

Allow me to add my congratulations--and thanks--again. Neither Pat's nor my father made it to that age...don't stop now!

OY 1936, NOT 1996!!!!! CORRECTED!
BaltACDHad a Plymouth like the one pictured just ahead of the bus - a 1956, amazed one is still operating in 1972.
Gee, you mean those "Forward Look" cars didn't hold up?

Had a Plymouth like the one pictured just ahead of the bus - a 1956, amazed one is still operating in 1972.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
THANKS AGAIN TO ALL. FURTHER ERROR. NOT 9TH AND 3RD AVENUE, BUT LINCOLN SQUARE, 65TH AND COLUMBUS AND BROADWAY. MIKE POINTED OUT THE ERROR IN AN EMAILN TO ME FOR WHICH I OWE THANKS. CLOSE INSPECTION SHOWS THE CONDUIT STREETCAR TRACKS COMING FROM THE LEFT, NW, ON BROADWAY, WITH THE SWITCH FOR THE GREEN LINES, GM-OWNED NY RAIKWAYS 9TH AND AMSTERDAM AVENUE LINE VISIBLE. THIS DATES THEH PHOTO PRIOR TO 1936. THE EXPRESSS TRACK, USED SOUTH IN THE MORNING AND NORTH IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING REMAINED ELEVATED ABOVE THE LOCAL TRACKS TO SOUTH OF 53RD STREET, SO SOUTH BOUND 6TH AVENUE TRAINS TURNING EAST ON 53RD STREET WOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH 9TH AVENUE EXPRESSES. SO THE SOUTHBOUND LOCAL TRAIN IS HEADED FOR SOUTH FERRY VIA EITHER 9TH AVENUE DIRECTLY OR VIA 6TH AVENUE AND ORIGINATED AT THE 155TH STREET STATION. THE NORTHBOUND 9TH AVENUE EXPRESS ON THE UPPER LEVEL IS HEADED TO BURNSIDE AVENUE ON THE JEROME AVENUE ELEVATED STRUCTURE WHERE PASSENGERS CAN CONTINUE NORTH TO WOODLAWN VIA A LEXINGTON AVENUE TRAIN. IT WILL CROSS THE HARLEM RIVER BETWEEN 155TH STREET STATION AND SEDGEWICK AVENUE STATION ON THE SIWNG BRIDGE FORMERLY USED BY PUTNAM DIVISION TRAINS AND SOLED TO THE IRT BY THE NEW YORK CENTRAL, WITH THE PUTNAM TRAINS MOVED FROM THE 155TH STREET ELEVATED STATION TO A SEDGEWICK AVENUE TWO-TRACK STUB TERMINAL ABOUT 1917.
Happy birthday Dave!!!!
and the music - most appropriate. thanks
Error needed correction. The MUDC train on the lower level is southbound, not northbound, and originated at Bronx Park,Fordam Rd., Treemont Ave., or 129th St., headed for either City Hall or South Ferry. Judging by light the time is late afternoon, and the upper level train is northbound. I'll correct the post in addition.
Belated Birthday Wishes to You!

Thanks (Hebrew, Todah, Arabic, Shukhren) to all of you. Have to go back and listen to the music, because lack earphones on me currently and loudspeaker use would annoy other library users.
The double deck elevated structure is the Cooper Square, 9th Street express station of the 3rd Avenue Elevated looking north east. 4th Avenue at the left joins 3rd, and below that point is The Bowery. The gate-car train is probably a Thru-Express to 241st and White Plains Rd, running express as far north as Treemont Avenue. The multiple-unit-door-control local may be headed either to City Hall-Park Row or to South Ferry.
the Yeshiva's New Year for Trees party yesterday served as my b.p.Thanks again!
Happy Birthday Dave! Hope you have many more if for no other reason that I enjoy the discussions I've had with you.
