What a wonderful selection of photos in "Best of 2015."  I'd like to have voted for more than one.

Is the Tom Nanos photo staged with lights?

Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.

Is the Tom Nanos photo staged with lights?

I did use a trio of Alien Bee B800 studio flashes, as I noted in the caption.  This was a photo of a sold-out revenue train, so it wasn't "staged" (or part of a photo charter, etc.) in the strict sense of the word.

If you're curious about the actual lighting setup, I've laid out my light positions over a Google Map - click this link to check it out.  If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to answer them...

Thanks
-Tom

Thanks for the explanation and the link.  After looking at the map it makes perfect sense.
