Phoebe Vet XP and Vista are no longer supported by Microsoft. If you want to upgrade one of those you have to buy the retail product. 7 & 8 are still supported so they have offered it like a normal update. Installation is optional. Many companies that are large enough to have their own IT people and thus provide their own support, are still running XP.

Sounds risky. No support for XP from Microsoft means no security updates. That's a big deal - particularly since that is public knowledge.
Vista is still in support, but it is junky - full of all sorts of bloatware. Win 7 and 10 are better, but upgrading an old Vista machine to Win 10 is probably not a great idea. Better to get a new machine. You can even get one with a solid state or hybrid hard drive which are pretty slick.

The problem was the they added a "sign-in" screen feature with the screen saver that had to be unchecked.
Then I had to make sure that the sleep setting on the monitor and computer were actually applied.
