Siegel Minnesota CNW/UP crossing ?????
Posted by Boyd on Monday, August 17, 2015 11:41 PM

Some maps show a town named Siegel just south of Stillwater, Oak Park Heights and just to the west of Bayport. UP crosses Osgood just to the south of 47th street north. All that is there is several houses on mostly 1 acre and less size, one dairy farm to the west of Osgood but nothing that shows it to be a town. One local railfan told me that there was once a passenger station just west of Osgood and to the north of the tracks. He also told me that a long time ago one train rear ended a parked passenger train there and several people were killed. This is all single track but I have seen articles showing it to once be double tracked with a 3rd track passing siding on the curve to the east of Osgood.
