Amtrak Service Changes

New changes are coming to a couple Amtrak Routes. The Silver Palm will no longer be offering sleeping accomidations nor a dining car. The Silver Palm will now be offering Business Class, Coach, and a Lounge Car for food service. There was also some talk that the Silver Palm name will be dropped and will be replaced with the name Palmetto instead. This is to avoid any confusion with the other two Silver Service trains that do offer sleepers and diners. The sleepers and diners will be transfered to the Kentuckey Cardinal for year round service on that route(providing Amtrak lives) eliminating it to join up with the three times a week Cardinal. These changes are scheduled to take place on April 28 of this year.

no doubt the continued effort to get more profit out of each route to satify the stupid mandate of the past Congress legislation.
