According to various Swiss media, two work trains collided on the Luzern approach to the Gotthard Line near Kussnacht SZ early this morning. Since both tracks were affected and the collision was on a viaduct, cleanup is proceeding slowly, with a mix of reroutes and bus substitutions. One of the undamaged routes also had passenger traffic suspended for a while to allow freight traffic to clear up. At this point SBB/CFF/FFS is not predicting when full service will be restored.
