I have a whole internet database of railroad interchanges....But I dont know if this is the actual location for the interchange tracks or a just a point on the map that railroads use to calculate rates. I intend to use this info to catch rare shortline pics and action.
In most cases it is the actual interchange location. However, in some cases for specific movements that actual interchange may take place at a alternate loction
From history, ConRail delivered movements of coal to the B&O in Baltimore at CR's Mount Vernon yard. B&O delived the empties back to ConRail on the connection to CR's Port Road at Aikin (Perryville on the CR). Official interchange for both movements was the actual interchange at BayView Yard in Baltimore.
For Short Lines the RaiLinc junction will most always be the actual interchange location.

Click on stations sign in...select state----selcet juctions----It then gives me 3 types of juctions..."Rule 260",Location,Carrier.....whats the diffrence?
