Can't help but dream. NCDOT stepping in with help to get the Saluda Grade open again in exchange for getting the Asheville-Salisbury passenger train running would be a double-dream-come-true for me. And to make it even better, as long as I'm dreaming, make that Asheville train run all the way to Columbia with a sleeper that would be passed off to the Miami bound train for a comfortable land cruise from the mountain land of retirement to the winter-time warmth of south Florida!
