My vote goes to Mike Roque's photo.  Several are very nice.  When I turned to Mike's version, it seemed to "stand out"....took my eye right away....Not sure just why, perhaps the fine detail on the engine, and of course an interesting qualifying tunnel view with it.

There were several very nice versions of the "Tunnel Theme"....but had to select just one of course.

Since the theme was "Tunnels", the choice was between Drew's and Tom's photos, since only those two feature tunnels along with trains rather than trains incidentally having tunnel portals in the background.  Alex's photo is excellent and probably is my favorite overall, but given the theme, my vote went to Tom's CN shot.  Drew's is the most interesting shot of the lot, but it is visually busy and doesn't "read" as well.

WHEN WAS THE THEME ANNOUNCED?  AGAIN I, AND OTHERS, DID NOT RECEIVE NOTICE OF THE THEME...PLEASE POST IT HERE AND NOT HIDDEN ELSEWHERE IN A NEWS LETTER OR WHEREVER.

That being said, Drew drew my vote...rugged rocks, dark hole, deep cut apporach...got the drama and mystery more than the other for sure.

Hmm. Subject tunnels. I foresaw endless trains coming out of endless tunnels.  Almost happened but Tom came through with a train going into a tunnel.  Not really a pretty picture but nonetheless refreshing.

Hmmm...Kent's was probably the prettiest, and I suspect it will emerge as the winner, but I felt it was a bit non-descript, and went for Alex Mayes BNSF capture of the Cascade Tunnel...mainly because of the fame/infamy of the bore, and the fact that it was a colorful photo.

Voted for Drew.  All the rest are "regular" tunnels, but I've never seen a rock-cut like that before.
