Spectacular!   But I think it must be a light, unpacked snow as the two locomotives seem to have no real problems zipping right through.  And that wooden bridge...or at least what looks like a wooden bridge...I gotta see it, gotta ride it!

30 years ago I rode the length of New Zealand on both NZR's North and South Island main lines.  I had intended to also ride the Arthur Pass line as it was electrified, but historic flooding foiled my plan.  I see I waited too long to go back, since the video shows the line is no longer wired.

I guess I should also be happy there is still passenger service on the line.  I just checked the RailNewZealand site, and I was surprised to see that while this line still had service, there is no longer service south of this line to the southern end of the South Island along that more populated coastal corridor.
