The following link is to a badly written piece in the Champaign, IL paper. It's title is women 'injures' foot in train accident. It was severed. Technically, yes, a really, really bad injury.
However, I take exception to the first paragraph description of it being a 'freak accident'. The girl and her boyfriend were on the rail cars spray painting graffiti. The train started to move. They both jumped. She didn't clear the tracks and lost her foot. Not an accident. Not a freak accident.
Reminds my, sort of, of the Illinois State backup quarterback waiting for an Amtrak in Normal, IL was tossing stones at a grain train. He had his head a tab too far towards the train and was struck by the grain car's ladder. That spun him around such that his leg went onto the track and it was severed above the knee. He doesn't play quarterback anymore.
Anyway, here's the link:

Thanks! I can never seem to get it 'activated'.
Illinois really cranks out 'dem journalists - don't dey?
Too bad they didn't write that the perps were trespassing while engaged in a criminal activity... The way it is, a lot of people might be tempted to blame the "big, bad railroad" for the "freak accident..."
