Surprises in Fostoria, Ohio yesterday (8/29/11)
Posted by chatanuga on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 11:53 AM

I'm on vacation this week, and I decided to head up to Fostoria for the day yesterday since it had been about three years since I was last up there.  The weather was perfect:  high 70s and mostly sunny.  Had some interesting surprises come past while I was up there.

The first was an eastbound ethanol train on CSX that turned north and was being pulled by three Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern units.

Over at the old B&O station, I caught an eastbound train of BNSF covered hoppers pulled by three BNSF locomotives.  The middle locomotive was still in it's original Santa Fe warbonnet colors.

Back at the location of the future railfan park, a southbound CSX freight had a covered hopper still wearing its original B&O logo.

Not long afterwards, a westbound CSX freight turned north and had a couple former Delaware and Hudson cars on it.
