Busy CSX?
Posted by spjoe on Friday, July 29, 2011 4:30 PM

Just got back from Flokston, GA.  Busy as can be with CSX and Amtrak. Other than Folkston, GA. Where else is CSX running a busy  amount for trains per hour?

The following thread and it's maps indicate where CSX is having Maintenance curfews....the off hours of the Curfew will be high activity hours as the attempts are made to move 24 hours of business in the 12 or 14 hours available between the on hours of the curfew.

About 60 trains per day on the Chicago - Williard, Oh line.  There are about 28 scheduled intermodals (not all daily), 4 autoracks (not all daily), 14 general freights.  Also there are daily PRB coal trains (loaded east, mt west), several westbound coal/coke trains daily, probably 3 or more loaded ethanol trains daily and a couple times a week my favorite shows up...The Apple Train Q090/Q091.  Q091 just passed west about an hour ago.

That tallies up to closer to 70.  Busy line.  Further west near Gary there are locals and others.
