FTA: "...The sheriff's office said in a news release that 22 cars separated from the 169-car freight train. Sixteen of those cars derailed, spilling their contents. Union Pacific officials say the car was carrying several items including coal, fuel and oil..."
Apparently casuse is fist noted as a separation from the train of 16 cars.. Does not say where in the train the break occurred. The track in that area is both, former. MoPac and KATY. The MoPac is generally one way north bound to the junction with the former KATY from Kansas City which is usually southbound to Parsons,Ks. and into Oklahoma, where the two lines converge.
