YES!! Got 'im!
Posted by CShaveRR on Friday, May 27, 2011 3:58 PM

I miss a lot of action when I don't take my scanner with me while out train-watching.  Today, I took it, and listened to a tale unfold.

Westbound Metra Train 29 reported narrowly missing a person at the Villa Park Station.  It had to have been close, because the engineer was able to describe his hooded sweatshirt, color of jeans, and even color of hair and shoes!  He asked the crew of the inbound train (#44) not to allow this person on the train, "Compliments of me".

Later the crew of Train 44 called Commuter Control, saying that the disgruntled non-passenger was "taking it out on the property".  C.C. told them to make a note in their incident report, and they would notify the authorities.  I later heard a description of the perpetrator confirmed, with "That's the guy."  So I assume that he was given time and reason to think about his offenses.

I complimented the crew of #44 when they were loading passengers at Elmhurst.

The next inbound train, #48, was two hours after #44 (that's the one hour during the day that a scoot doesn't run into town).  If I remember correctly, the crew of #48 would be the same one that took #29 out...I'll bet the guy didn't make that one, either!

I'm glad to see grade crossing or other platform violations taken seriously!
