This Day in History, February 28

On February 28th, 1827, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was chartered.

In 1992, a bomb blamed on the IRA ripped through a London railway station, injuring at least 30 people and shutting down the British capital's rail and subway system.

Sept 15, 1958:  Two engines and and three cars of a Jersey Central commuter train enroute to Jersey City, NJ plunged through the open Newark Bay drawbridge between Elizabethport and Bayonne, NJ. 

Forty three people were killed.
