Hello Forum,
I've been trying my best to figure out what industries are being served in Southern New Jersey. I live not far from the tracks that go right through Newfield, New Jersey. Using Google, Google Earth, and this forum, I've been able to find out some information, but I have one giant piece of the puzzle missing.
What I know:
Winchester and Western serves a Perdue grain facility, a frozen vegetable warehouse (Seabrook), and a sand quarry (U.S. Silica). I've never seen WW branded trains take the tracks that go through Millville though.
CSX trains travel the tracks that go through Millville and tracks that cross State Route 47 in Vineland. I cannot determine what industries this train is serving though. I know this train passes the Vineland Municipal Electric Utility and does switching at Gerresheimer Glass.
The train usually has covered hoppers, some branded Norfolk Southern, which I'm guessing are sand for the glass factory??? and usually has a lot of tank cars that are marked GATX.
Anyone familiar with the operations of the CSX train that goes through Newfield? Any help is greatly appreciated.
