Mookie: isn't there already a club for those over 55? Isn't it
called AARP[?][:p][}:)]

Funny thing about AARP, though; when locomutt joined when he turned 50,
I was automatically enrolled as his spouse. We got the cards and all. But
we could not find anywhere around to honor our discount as members of
AARP. So we cancelled our membership. Maybe we'll try again next year when
he turns 55.

I have used my AARP for 10% discount at Motel 6.There are many of them on I-80 east of Wyoming, all the way to New York. That is the only discount available from that motel chain. Can't remember if we used it elsewhere.

So what do I get?

I wasn't going to post anything about my birthday (which was recently) but now I need an excuse to show off a very neat birthday present I got. I hope this works:

And if not, here's the link to it:

UPTRAIN and Trainheartedguy made that for me, and by the sounds of it spent quite a lot of time on it. I think it's cool! Anyway, thanks to them, and I hope you all enjoy it too.

My wife Linda is 58 on Sunday. I'll stay away from the computer all that day in her honor, longer if I forget the card and the gift. (No cable in the dog house). Maybe I could plead old age? I'll be 46 next Feb. Oops, darn dyslexia.

Happy Birthday to all you July kids out there and to chemung (AKA double digit Dave). Keep blazing that trail, dude.
