Will Mookie become next Forum Master?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, July 2, 2004 5:47 PM
Seeing as Mookie has over 3000 posts, when Bergie can't keep up the forum anymore (which probably won't be for a good long while, but it will happen eventually), do you think he'll hand down the position to Mookie?

Yeah, Mookie would be a very good candidate, but Bergie is a LOOOONG way off
from relinquishing his title. He is doing a fantastic job of keeping all of us on the
straight and narrow.

I want to jump in here.

I was a manager for a large auto center for quite a long time...One of the minuses in being the guy(or gal) in charge is you sometimes have to tell someone you really like "no, you cant do that".

Which is one of the dilemmas I am sure Erik now faces, and one which I know Mark H had to deal with.

How do you tell some one who you count on and deal with every day that what they wanted to say or have written will be removed or done away with?

Its a hard, and not pleasent part of the job, trust me.

Not real sure the Mookie would want to have to be the one telling me, LC, Carl, or any of us "No, you cant say that!", which, no matter how careful we were, she would, at some point in time, have to do.

Although I am sure she would do it in a funny, pleasent way, no still means no, and someone would take offense.

Ed that was very well stated.
And I'm sure some one will find fault, somehow!

Walt,
They might find fault, but trust me, if, somehow, Mookie does become an administrator, I bet you they would be surprised how well she would do it, and how tough she really is.

If needed, she is one of those people who can be tough as nails.
She might sound like a cream puff, but thats because she chooses to.
in reality, she is a no nonsense person, down to earth and very honest, with a firm, set standard of values, which she dosnt let other get around.

But, from what I know about her, I dont think being the word police would appeal to her, she has more fun throwing the monkey wrench into the works, than fixing the machine.

I agree with this part of edblysard's post, but not the other half. Just look at the Depot, Diner & a Coffee Shop thread. She's the waitress and tells people what to eat/do. Seeing as she's great at this, I think she'd be great at being Forum Master.

Ed,
I don't think I'd be surprised!

I KNOW she could do it!

Now about the "monkey wrench",
Was that "right-handed",or "left-handed"[?][:D]

No, LC...
But I used to work for my states Office of the Attorney General, State of Texas.
But dont hold that against me, please...
After all, I did quit, to persue a career with honor and dignity, (and a lot better pay) as a switchman...

I think you max out at 5, but hey I could be wrong, or perhaps Bergie or the powers that be could change that...
