chicago terminal railroad (chicago and evanston line)
Posted by BNSF@NARS on Sunday, October 31, 2010 12:20 PM

hello, i was wondering what your thoughts are on how much longer the chicago terminal railroad C&E Line. right now they serve 2-3 customers operating tuesday and thurday for only several hours. and my best friends second couzin is pretty rich and he is also a railfan and had an interest in the line which he is trying to find out how much the total of the chicago and evanston line of the CTM would be? any thoughts? also do you think there is room for expansion for the CTM C&E Line since right by the north avenue yard there is a business which is rail-served. i think its morton salt and on a track adjacent to the metra/UP mainline from the yard goes to morton salt, a rail-served chocolate company and chicago tribune. also there is an abandoned track going underneath the city of chicago and appearing on a street in downtown and going under again heading toward navy pier which could be a possible passenger rail service in the future.

what are your thoughts on the expansion possibilites and what do you think the revenue of not the chicago terminal railroad is but just the C&E line in goose island, illinois?

thank you

First off, the "and evanston" part hasn't existed for dozens of years... check out the line on Google earth. Not too much left of it. But if you want more info I'd recommend checking out http://www.chicagoswitching.com/v6/ and if your buddy does buy it please take me along for a cab ride! :)
