.....A belated thanks to Bill Metzger {map creator}, in August TRAINS mag. That area is of great interest to me {orig. from Pa.}, and It seems to be one of the best I've seen. Good detail, and the extended route from Altoona to Johnstown....Where so much rail history was generated.

Got to agree with Quentin!
Have had a chance to really go over it a couple of more times and it is an amazing graphic representation of the geneology of the American and Canadian Systems, although I am not really versed in how the Canadian system grew. Mexico is a total mystery(to me) as well. What I find of interest is how the sysems have melded into what amounts to a truly intercontinental system.
Who would have ever thought that the Canadian National Railway would have facilities in the North West Territories and in New Orleans, La.
Or that Canadian Pacific would have terminal facilities in Kansas City,Mo (w/KCSRR) Or that KCSdeM (sub of KCSRR) wold have a port on Mexico's West Coast (Lazaro Cardenas).
So a tip of the hat to TRAINS and Bill Metzger!
